Toronto’s Shawn Mendes has covered the 1984 classic anthem “Dancing In The Dark” by “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen in a new Tommy Hilfiger Campaign
The original “Dancing In The Dark” video was directed by Brian De Palma and shot at the Saint Paul Civic Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota on June 28 and 29, 1984 as part of the Born in the U.S.A. Tour.
Springsteen and the E Street Band performed the song twice during that show allowing De Palma to get the footage he needed. The video is a straight performance where The Boss doesn’t play the guitar and invites a young woman from the audience, Courteney Cox, to dance with him on the stage.
We are not sure if this song will be officially released as a single to radio but fans are loving it and want to hear the entire song! Shawn posted the Tom Hilfiger promo on his social media pages with the caption “@tommyhilfiger Classics Reborn campaign!! Feeling very proud to work together & reimagine Tommy’s classic styles more sustainably #PlayItForward #TommyXShawn
Tommy Hilfiger posted a video with the caption “We’re teaming up with #ShawnMendes to reimagine #TommyHilfiger’s classic style, more sustainably. Honoring the past while rising to meet the future. Classics Reborn. #TommyXShawn #PlayItForward”
