Jay-Z and Kanye West were the highest paid hip-hop artist of 2021 according to Forbes editor Zack O’Malley Greenberg.
Jay-Z earned $470 million after selling parts of his Tidal streaming service and Armanda de Brignac champagne which brought his net worth to $1.5 billion. Following was Kanye West racking in $250 million almost entirely from his Yeezy footwear empire.
According to MRC Data, hip-hop accounts for 27.7% of North American music consumption which is more than any other music genre and roughly equal to rock and country combined.
