It’s awesome that we are seeing more women taking over rolls in sports that were once held only for men.
12 women in the NFL in some sort of coaching roll, as of December of 2020 there were 6 women in the NBA holding assistant coaching titles, and there are 54 women in the NHL who are in coaching positions.
Also, 12 women have their names on the Stanley Cup.
Yesterday, the CFL announced the hiring of Tanya Walter. The former linebacker was named defensive assistant for the B.C. Lions, becoming the first full-time female coach in CFL history.
