Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have released the first trailer for its Stephen King adaptation “Firestarter” along with announcing the film’s release plans.
The story centers on a young girl cursed with the gift of pyrokinesis, the ability to set things on fire using only her mind.
She is soon abducted by a secret government agency that wants to harness her powerful gift as a weapon. Zac Efron, Michael Greyeyes, Sydney Lemmon and Ryan Kiera Armstrong star.
The Keith Thomas-directed movie is set to get a simultaneous theatrical and streaming release, arriving both in theaters and on Peacock on May 13th.
